TERENCE BLANCHARD & RAVI COLTANE

MILES DAVIS & JOHN COLTRANE at 100

2026 marks the Centennial Year to celebrate the architects of progressive jazz, MILES DAVIS and JOHN COLTRANE.

This exclusive program has been curated and created by TERENCE BLANCHARD and RAVI COLTRANE, respected band leaders honored for pushing the genre forward and with the most direct links to the creativity, futurism, transcendence, freedom, heat, and the birth of the cool that personified the eras and music of MILES and ‘TRANE.

The MILES / COLTRANE  LEGACY program is exceptional, with direct musical heirs at the helm, Terence Blanchard and Ravi Coltrane bring personal, authentic connections to the music of Miles and ‘Trane. Unlike standard tributes of faithful recreations, this centennial celebration emphasizes the innovation and reinterpretation from both leaders embody and channeling the spirit of improvisation and forward-thinking that defined both icons.

2026 will also see a series of album releases by Coltrane and Blanchard honoring the jazz legacy hewn by Miles and ‘Trane, subsequent promotional activities, and publicity placements across all media.

Blanchard and Coltrane, known for pushing boundaries in their own right, will ensure each night’s performance is not just nostalgic but living, evolving experiences, honoring Davis and ‘Trane by creating something new rather than simply replicating the past.

Their approach captures the true essence of jazz: honoring legacy through creative expression and improvisation with each live concert a unique and unrepeatable event.

This project is being co-booked with the Kurland Agency

“Ultimately, [Ravi] Coltrane proved himself to be the inheritor of marvelous genes, but not at all because he simply emulated his father. Instead, he demonstrated an arresting ability to define his own, powerful way forward while engaging his collaborators. That is what John Coltrane did in the 1960s, and Ravi Coltrane is doing today in a completely fresh style.”

Blanchard’s body of work is one of the broad- est and most imposing of any living jazz musi- cian…He’s one of the rare jazz composers who can load up a piece with rich harmony and real rhythmic pleasure, without feeling the need to tie things up neatly or deliver a clean payoff.”
