METROPOLE ORKEST

Under the conductorship of Jules Buckley, the Metropole is the largest full-time ensemble of its kind. Sharing the stage with legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny, Brian Eno, Herbie Hancock, and Bono, the MO actively creates collaborations with music’s next generation of stars: Snarky Puppy, Robert Glasper, Cory Wong, Jose James, Cécile McLorin Salvant, and DOMi & JD Beck.

Most recently, they added to their Grammy wins with Snarky Puppy’s Sylva (Best Contemporary Instrumental Album) and Jacob Collier’s “All Night Long” for Best Arrangement, Instruments, and Vocals.

“I was deeply moved by the support of audience members who flew in from all over the world simply to hear the historic orchestra play.” QUINCY JONES

“[The Metropole Orkest ] are capable of enhancing any piece of music. [For Bokanté’s What Heat]... conducted by Jules Buckley, they add a great deal of power and emotion to the recording. The compelling arrangements, penned by [Michael] League and Buckley, build a stage for Malika Tirolien to shine and make What Heat a deep listening experience.” // ROOTS WORLD

“Nothing compares to the Metropole Orkest.” // DAVID PICKARD, Director of BBC Proms

“Buckley can arrange contemporary pop, dance, and soul into fresh, exhilarating orchestral music like no other.” // DE VOLSKRANT
